Where are drywood termites most commonly found?

Drywood termites thrive in warmer climates, which makes southern California their most commonly found habitat. This region provides the necessary temperature and humidity conditions that facilitate their survival and reproduction. Drywood termites infest drywood structures and are known to colonize timber without the need for contact with soil, allowing them to flourish in residential areas, especially in regions with mild winters.

In contrast, the Midwest, Northwest, and Northeast USA generally experience colder climates that can be less hospitable for drywood termites.
